[June 26, 8:00 AM Update] Museum Open Today & Policy on Weather Warnings / Ticket Rescheduling

[Current Status as of June 26, 8:00 AM] As of 8:00 AM today, June 26, 2026, no severe weather or flood warnings have been issued for the Oigawa River & Katsura River or the Saga District where the Fukuda Art Museum is located. Therefore, we plan to remain OPEN as usual today.

For Online Ticket Holders (Rescheduling due to Transportation Disruptions)

Due to the heavy rain, public transportation schedules are already disrupted. If you have already purchased an online ticket but find it difficult or unsafe to visit today, we will gladly reschedule your visit to a later date.

To request a rescheduled date, please email us with the following details:

  1. Your Full Name

  2. Ticket Number(s) (for all tickets to be changed)

  3. Your Preferred New Date & Time (e.g., Change from June 26 at [Time] to [Month/Date] at [Time])

Our Temporary Closure Policy for Severe Weather

Please be advised of our official emergency closure policy:

  • Morning Closure Criteria: If a Level 4 Flood Urgent Warning, Heavy Rain Urgent Warning, Landslide Urgent Warning, or Special Heavy Snow Warning is issued for the Kyoto City Ukyo District (or an area including it) as of 6:00 AM, and the museum deems it unsafe, the museum will be temporarily closed for the morning.

  • Reopening at 1:00 PM: If the warning is lifted by 11:00 AM, the museum will open from 1:00 PM.

  • All-Day Closure: If the warning remains in effect past 11:00 AM, the museum will remain closed for the entire day.

In the event of a temporary closure, online tickets can be rescheduled using the same email process outlined above.
