Measures to be taken in the event of weather warnings, such as the temporary closure (as of Jun. 25, 2026)
The Fukuda Art Museum located in Saga Arashiyama, Kyoto, might be temporarily closed when the weather warning is issued and the visitors are in danger. For the latest information, please check our Website or X(witter).
Weather Warnings to be Applied (based upon the JMA’s announcement as of May 29)
<Warning> One of the following warnings; Storm warning (暴風警報), Blizzard warning(暴風雪警報), Heavy snowfall warning (大雪警報)
<Urgent Warning> One of the following level 4 urgent warnings; Heavy rain(大雨危険警報), Flood(河川氾濫危険警報), Landslide(土砂災害危険警報)
<Special Warning> One of the following special warnings; Storm special warning (暴風特別警報), Blizzard special warning (暴風雪特別警報), Heavy snowfall special warning (大雪特別警報)
<Emergency Warning> One of the following level 4 emergency warnings; Heavy rain (大雨特別警報), Flood(河川氾濫特別警報), Landslide(土砂災害特別警報)
How We Determine the Closure
- We temporarily close the museum if one of the warnings above is issued Ukyo ward of Kyoto at 6:00 am and we judge that we are in danger.
- If the warning is canceled before 6:00 am, we open the museum as usual.
- We close the museum for all day long if one of the warnings above is still issued in Ukyo ward of Kyoto at 11:00 am.
- If the warning is canceled between 6:00 am and 11:00 am, we open the museum from 1:00 pm.
