As of 10 January 2025, snowfall is forecasted in many parts of the country and transport timetables are expected to be disrupted.

For those who have already purchased an online ticket, we can offer a transfer to the date of your visit.
If you wish to make a transfer, please email us with (1) your name, (2) the ticket number (for the number of tickets) and (3) the date you wish to make the transfer. As stated in the terms and conditions of purchase, no refunds will be made.

Please note that the museum will be temporarily closed if, at 6am, a special heavy snow warning is issued for Ukyo-ku, Kyoto or the area including Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, and the museum deems it dangerous. If the warning is still in effect at 11am, the museum will be temporarily closed for the whole day. If the warning is lifted before 11am, the museum will open at 1pm.
In the event of a temporary closure, please note that online ticket transfers will be accepted in the same way as above.
